Stress and pitch

Stress

All words are paroxytone, except when you need to make words distinct. Suffixes are considered syllables for stress.¹ Diacritics aren’t necessary.

Pitch

Pitch has no phonemic value in Balkeon: it cannot change the meaning of a word.

The Bjornsdottirs propose rising pitch on the stressed syllable and falling pitch at the next one.¹
